Manual Extract: Inspections and checks
• Examine the boring and the mounting surfaces looking for signs of wear, scratches, grooves: replace the scratched or grooved pieces; • check all the oil lines: any obstructions should be eliminated with blast of compressed air or by passing smooth wire in both directions of the line and then rinsing with solvent;
• check the threading’s, correct the damaged threads using threading tap with the required dimensions;
• examine the bearings that may have nicks, burrs, oval ling, sharp edges or signs of overheating: replace the damaged components;
• replace all the washers;
• check that the grooves are not deformed, chipped or with burrs; replace the gear if there is any defectiveness;
• check for the absence of burrs and damaged threads; replace the damaged pieces; • look for signs of overheating, permanent deformation or wear due to friction of adjacent pieces on the springs: if any one of these defects are found, replace the spring.
