Manual Extract: Rocker arm shaft installation
1. Apply engine oil to the camshaft.
2. Apply the engine oil to the bridge.
3. Temporarily tighten the rocker arm shaft onto the camshaft carrier.
NOTE: Temporarily tighten the bolts in the numerical order indicated in the diagram.
Tightening order.
i. Front mark
4. Securely tighten the rocker arm shaft onto the camshaft carrier.
NOTE: Securely tighten them in the numerical order indicated in the diagram.
Tightening torque: 90 N·m (66 lb ft) M8 bolt.
5. Loosen the adjust screw using the wrench.
NOTE: Completely loosen the adjust screw on the rocker arm side.
6. Loosen the adjust screw using the special tool.
NOTE: Completely loosen the adjust screw on the bridge side.
Special tool: Valve clearance adjust nut wrench (1) (Refer to Cylinder head – Special tools (10.101))
NOTICE: Make sure the adjust screw on the bridge side is not loosened too much because it may fall off.
