Manual Extract: Brake Pedal Maximum Travel Adjustment
STEP 1
Depress the RH brake pedal with no more that 50 Newtons (11 pounds) of force until the valve spool stops. Loosen lock nut and adjust stop bolt until the bolt just contacts the pedal then tighten the bolt one additional turn. Tighten lock nut to lock the adjustment.
IMPORTANT: Brake valve will be damaged i f excessive force is used to bottom out the valve spool.
STEP 2
Measure and record the distance between the top of the brake valve assembly and the bottom of the yoke. Have an assistant depress and hold the RH brake pedal then repeat the measurement. The difference (spool travel) between the two measurements must not be more than 36.8 mm (1.45 inches). If the difference between the two measurements is more than 36.8 mm (1.45 inches), loosen the lock nut and tighten the stop bolt until the difference is not more than 36.8 mm (1.45 inches). Tighten the lock nut to lock the adjustment.
STEP 3
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the LH brake pedal.
