Manual Extract: Test Stand Installation

Fuel injector disassembly and repair operations must be conducted in a clean, dust-free room especially set aside for this purpose. The room must have an air filtering system and must be completely separated from other service shop activities.
Observe the following cleanliness precautions:

1. Clothing and hands must be clean before entering the injector repair room.
2. Do not perform any grinding or filing operations in the injector repair room.
3. Clean the floor with an oil mop frequently.
4. Keep cement floors painted to eliminate abrasive dust.
5. Use every precaution to keep the test oil clean. Cover the test stand when it i s not in use. Keep the supply of test oil in clean sealed containers.
6. Prior to using an injector test stand for the first time, wash the lines, tank, etc., in clean fuel and blow it clean with filtered compressed air to eliminate any possibility of cuttings in the tubing causing damage to an injector.
7. Bolt the test stand to a clean sturdy bench.
